People often say they struggle with staying organized. There are usually a few reasons for this, sometimes its simply that they have too much stuff, other times its that there are no systems in place helping them to stay organized. If you have no place to consistently put your keys when you get home then you will probably be often looking for them because they have no home. Here are a few ideas to help get started in being able to stay organized.

Declutter your home. Such an important step in becoming the organized superhuman you are destined to be. This will ensure you have enough space to store the things that truly matter and find them when you really need them.

Create permanent homes for your things. Having consistent & permanent homes for your things is a good place to start when getting on the organizing train. This will keep you from wasting time constantly looking for those important things when you are on a time crunch.

Put things away when you are done with them. Always put things away as soon as you are finished using them. You may not feel like it at the time, but this is a huge one for saving times and your home from becoming cluttered.

Tidy up before you go to bed at night. Quickly cleaning off the counters and putting everything away before you go to bed at night will keep your home from getting out of hand. Bonus is waking up to a tidy home every morning!

Write it down. As soon as you think of something you need to do, buy, write about, write it down. No paper? No problem, pull out that fancy phone you have, open the notes app and write it down. If you need to schedule Yourself a half hour an evening for every weekend to review your notes, do it! There’s not shame in a reminder or scheduled time to review your notes.

Make your bed as soon as you leave it in the morning. This simple task starts out your day in a productive manner. It gives you a sense of accomplishment which leads to you accomplishing more tasks. A poll conducted by the National Sleep Foundation found that people who make their bed in the morning are 19 percent more likely to have a good night's sleep, every night. A better sleep leads to us being more productive.

Finish what you start. Whenever you start something, finish it. When you are constantly switching from task to task and not finishing each you leave piles of messes behind you, and nothing accomplished. I know, especially as a mom how difficult this can be, but this is a huge one to stay organizes is to stay on the task at hand until it is finished.

Write a list before you go to bed of everything you need to accomplish the next day, highlight your top 3 tasks complete tomorrow and accomplish those tasks first before working on anything else. I know, I am all about lists, I would have lists for my lists if i could Ha ha. Seriously though, writing lists helps you stay organized, on track, accomplish your top priorities as well as have a good night sleep.

Small changes in habits can lead to big changes in life.
